Airfare is one of the most expensive parts of any trip. Finding good prices on airfare or just finding a good time to travel your dream destination can be challenging. We use several different apps and websites to help us find amazing destinations with good airfare deals. We have listed some of our favorite apps and websites below.
Apps and websites that we love:
- Hopper (available on Google Play and the Apple Store)
Hopper is a great app that monitors specific travel dates and destinations that you set. It also alerts you when you get the cheapest deal on airfare. The app suggests when prices will drop and when they are likely to increase. We use Hopper all the time to find the best time to travel to get those super low airline tickets. (We used it to find tickets to Costa Rica from SFO for $350 next spring).
- Airfare watch dog (www.airfarewatchdog.com)
Airfare Watchdog works similarly to Hopper but sends you email alerts instead. It’s a nifty website as it also lists other destinations from your origin city that could be cheaper alternatives.
- The Flight Deal (www.theflightdeal.com)
The people at Flight Deal do a great job combing through various airline routes and sending them in a daily newsletter. Usually, deals listed in flight deal emails are lower than the average prices (and sometimes even errors made by airlines). If you are lucky enough to catch one of the error in prices made by airlines they will honor it.
- LMT Club (www.lmtclub.com)
LMT Club curates last-minute vacation packages from different travel companies and lists deals for local travel attractions.
- Hipmunk (a chatbot on Facebook Messenger)
Hipmunk is an automated chatbot on Facebook Messenger that replies instantaneously with flight prices and destination suggestions for your home city. We are starting to get to know this part of FB Messenger, so hopefully it delivers 🙂
- Points of ER (www.pointsofearlyretirement.com)
Points of ER lists error deals from airlines. Most recently round trip tickets from NYC to the Philippines for $176!! Find them on Facebook.
